Best Newcomer Award

Henry Spencer, trumpeter from the band JUNCTURE, was at Brewin Dolphin's Christmas Party on 1st December to receive the Best Newcomer Award for the 2011 Marlborough International Jazz Festival on behalf of his band.

Hunting Songs


SALUTEMUS provided an eclectic mix of Hunting Songs, dances and Christmas carols for the Selwood Foundation Christmas party at Manor House stables in Nunney. The programme included a song by Sir Richard Paget who lived at nearby Cranmore Hall and was a personal friend of the Pickthorn family who hosted the party.

Period Band


The delightful parish church of St John the Baptist in Horningsham, originally dating from the 12th century, was enlarged and restored by the Marchioness of Bath in the 18th century.

The Mellstock Band provided music there for a wedding and reception that would have made the Marchioness herself feel at home.

Peacock and strings

SALUTEMUS provided a string quartet and piano for a beautiful, summery wedding in the grounds of Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire. We provided Mozart in E flat Major; Larmer Tree provided some free-range peacocks in a variety of keys (but NOT in E flat!).

Best Newcomer at Marlborough Festival

Juncture, one of the bands promoted by SALUTEMUS in this year’s Marlborough International Jazz Festival have been voted ‘BEST NEWCOMER’.

With almost 100 different bands, some well known names and some, like JUNCTURE, new to the scene, playing over three days the Marlborough Festival is a major jazz event.

A Musical ‘Grand Tour’ at Stourhead

Romeo Ciuffa and Pietro delle Chiaie, two soloists from the Capella Musicale Enrico Stuart of Rome, spent an afternoon playing in the Picture Gallery at Stourhead as part of their 2011 UK tour organised by SALUTEMUS. This is their fifth visit to the UK and forms part of a strong link between SALUTEMUS and a varied group of musicians from Rome and the surrounding area.
