NUNNEY STREET FAYRE 2013

SALUTEMUS provided musicians for this year's Street Fayre in Nunney on Saturday 3rd August. Music in front of the castle was provided by Frome Swing Band and then, later, Fromage en Feu (who played to great acclaim in the village in May). Joel Grainger wandered round the village busking on violin. An amazing sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xGqL5nbBm4&feature=share
The day started well - sunny and crowded - but round about 2pm all that changed and the streets were awash with torrents of rainwater. Fromage retreated to the safety of The George and kept spirits up!

Raise The Roof - 15th Concert

SALUTEMUS continues its series of Music to Raise the Roof (in aid of the church roof fund) in Nunney Church.

The 15th concert took place on Friday 10th May at 7.00pm and was given by FROMAGE EN FEU, who describe themselves as ‘a red-hot faux-French Gypsy Balkan Klezmer Band’. The Guardian said ‘they bring a distinctly fun attitude to world music’ and they have a reputation for playing tunes as ripe and fruity as an old Camembert at speeds that can barely be imagined. It was a great evening!
