The delightful parish
church of St John the Baptist in Horningsham, originally dating from the 12th
century, was enlarged and restored by the Marchioness of Bath in the 18th
century.
The Mellstock Band
provided music there for a wedding and reception that would have made the
Marchioness herself feel at home.
The West Gallery Band
of violin, oboe, clarinet and serpent specialise in music of this period and
provide an extra element of authenticity by performing in costume.
The idyllic setting
was blest with summer sunshine – a perfect English country wedding.
